ADA Launches a Summer Training Program for Localization of Riyadh Metro Project Expertise

‏

In partnership with the consortiums working on King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses), the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh has launched a 10-week summer program for training and qualifying the national engineering cadres to join the project during its operational phases.

The program comprises lectures and field visits to the project’s work sites and consortiums’ headquarters to get an idea about the project’s components, workflow, and different phases.

Basically, the program, organized in coordination with the Saudi universities, targets the Saudi graduates specialized in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and architecture.

As part of the metropolitan public transport project, the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to prepare a recruitment and training plan in cooperation with the Technical and Vocational and Training Corporation, the Human Resources Development Fund, Colleges of Excellence Inc., and the Saudi Standards Skills Company.

The project is expected to generate over 23,000 direct/indirect jobs, mainly technical and professional.

King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport has witnessed a significant increase in the number of Saudi cadres employed by the three consortiums working on the project (BACS, Arriyadh New Mobility, and FAST). Since its inception, about 930 Saudi engineers and specialists have joined the project in various engineering, technical, and administrative roles.
