A delegation from the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization visits ADA

On January 26, 2017, HE Governor of Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO), Dr. Saad bin Othman Al Qasabi and the delegation accompanying him visited the headquarters of the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh, at the Diplomatic Quarter, and was received by HE Engr. Ibrahim Al-Sultan, member of the High Commission for Development of Arriyadh and President of ‎Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA), and a group of ADA officials.

During the visit, SASO Governor watched a video presentation about the High Commission’s plans and programs, particularly the Metropolitan Development Strategy for the Arriyadh Region (MEDSTAR), which guides and orchestrates all future activities of urban development in all sectors of the city. The delegation was also briefed on the key metropolitan development plans, projects and programs being carried out by the High Commission for the Development of Arriyadh.

The delegation also watched a video presentation that shed light on King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public Transport (Metro & Buses), which aims to establish a sustainable, scalable and integrated metropolitan public transport system that extends for 176 kilometers, and features 6 lines, 85 stations, and 22-line bus network with a total length of 1200 kilometers.

SASO delegation also visited the 2000-meter-long tunnel of the Red Line (King Abdullah Road Axis), which has been bored by a TBM using the sequential excavation method (NATM).
